Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre

Introduction  :

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) is an initiative of National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi. The aim was to develop an institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture in academic institutions to foster growth of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the faculty and students.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) was  started  with  the  object  of  promoting  specialized knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development.It is a student start-up company established in 2014 at VISAT campus. It is Inaugurated by Adv. Anoop Jacob (Minister for Food and Civil Supplies),and  Talk by Padmasree Narayana Purushothama Mallaya on  20-03-2015

 Its intended to work as a firm as well as an incubator for student start-ups. IEDC VISAT  is envisioned to play as a company under the selected board of student directors and advisors. It’s designed to undertake all technical and service based projects to build it as an autonomous corporate structure. IEDC VISAT will provide office space ,angel funds,supports and some infrastructure to the selected incubates .


To inculculate the entrepreneurial spirit among the students of VISAT  with a focus on emerging innovative technology with an international benchmarking to serve the society and the world at large.


To become the center of excellence to motivate and enable the students to become entrepreneurs by developing novel technologies catering to current market demands and achieve success in initiating and developing their own enterprises.


  • Conduct training programmes in the field of entrepreneurial skill development 
  • Develop entrepreneurship related course curriculum to incorporate  in management  and           engineering programmes 
  •  Provide guidance and facilities to first time entrepreneurs during gestation. 

  To perceive the spirit of entrepreneurs 

  • To create a desire to gain success in business
  •  To imbibe knowledge and skills
  • To enable students comprehend the global business practices
